Duets in Broadway Musicals

Broadway musicals in the 1940s and 50s included anywhere from two to five duets. The number depends largely on how many romantic couples are included in the plot–the more the merrier, of course. In a sampling of twenty of the most popular or most historically significant musicals of the 1950s, some of which were in revival or adapted for film during that period, I found that three to four duets was common. I will post more information tomorrow.
